For five years now, the :alpenarte festival has been held in the picturesque village of Schwarzenberg, Vorarlberg. This brings classical music performed by young musicians to the Angelika Kauffmann Hall, in the midst of the beautiful landscape of the Bregenzerwald, and offers audiences an annual four-day concert experience. With exciting programs, the involvement of local talent and a harmonious union of art, culture and music education, :alpenarte sets distinctive accents and gives the region attractive impulses. In particular, the work of the up-and-coming artists and the bridging between individual class and appreciative cooperation evoke our enthusiasm for this impressive project. Regionally anchored and yet European cosmopolitan, young talent-oriented and at the same time cross-generational - that is the philosophy of :alpenarte.

Erlebe SOL 2022

The program of the third chamber music matinée could be described with a touch of autumn when the Liechtenstein cellist Moritz Huemer takes the stage with his partner Valentina Serena Paetsch on violin and pianist Gabriel Meloni. The program gets a French touch with the unjustifiably seldom performed sonata for violin and violoncello by Maurice Ravel; likewise the violin sonata by Claude Debussy. The main focus, however, is towards the end, when the melancholy piano trio by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy sounds. All of the musicians are rooted in the (greater) region and know each other from the activities at the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein. Moritz Huemer is also the solo cellist of the Liechtenstein Symphony Orchestra (SOL) and the ENSEMBLES ESPERANZA and has already performed as a soloist with the SOL.

Maurice Ravel (1875–1937) 1,2
Sonata for Violin and Cello (1920/22) "A la mémoire de Claude Debussy" (11’)

Robert Schumann (1810–1856) 1,3
Three Romances for Oboe and Piano, Op. 94 (Verison for Cello and Piano) (13’)

Claude Debussy (1862–1918) 2,3
Violin Sonata in G minor, L148 (13’)

Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (1809–1847) 1,2,3
Piano Trio No.1 in D minor (30’)

1 Moritz Huemer, Cello
2 Valentina Paetsch, Violin
3 Gabriel Meloni, Piano
