Biography

Clara Josephine Stelter was born in 2007 in Wiesbaden and began her violin studies in 2011 with Katalin Szigeti. From 2017 to 2024, she studied under Prof. Annette Seyfried at the Streicherakademie Mainz. She is currently a junior student of Prof. Sophia Jaffé at the HfMDK Frankfurt. Since 2021, she has been a member of the Bundesjugendorchester (National Youth Orchestra of Germany), gaining experience under the direction of Kirill Petrenko, Alexander Shelley, Francesco Angelico, and Tabea Zimmermann, among others. Previously, from 2019, she played in the Landesjugendorchester Rheinland-Pfalz (State Youth Orchestra of Rhineland-Palatinate), serving as concertmaster in 2022.

She has received numerous awards, including first prizes at the Bundeswettbewerb Jugend musiziert in the categories Violin Solo and Chamber Music, the Mendelssohn Competition in Frankfurt, as well as several special prizes. She has also performed as a soloist with the hr-Sinfonieorchester, the Main Chamber Orchestra, and the Streicherakademie Mainz. Masterclasses and chamber music instruction with renowned musicians such as Kirill Troussov, Prof. Andreas Lehmann, and Lukas Sieber (Aris Quartet) have shaped her artistic development. Additionally, she was a scholarship holder of the Rotary Club Mainz and participated in projects such as “Musik Miteinander” at the Kronberg Academy.
