Biography

Strahinja Pavlovic was born in 1996 in the Serbian capital Belgrade. From 2005 to 2015 he attended the Music High School "Vatroslav Lisinski" in the class of Prof. Ljubisa Jovanovic. He then moved to the Belgrade Academy of Music in the class of Prof. Ognjen Popovic, where he studied until 2017. He is currently studying at the University of Music Lübeck with Prof. Reiner Wehle.

The young clarinetist received further musical impulses from Sabine Meyer and Reiner Wehle (Germany), Ljubisa Jovanovic and Aleksandar Tasic (Serbia), Mate Bekavac (Slovenia), Jan Jakub Bokun (Poland), Milan Rericha (Switzerland), Stefanie Zelick (Kansas, USA) and with Stephen Vermeersch (Belgium). In 2014, he participated in a master class called "Epoche f" with members of the famous Ensemble Modern in Germany.

During his studies, Strahinja Pavlovic participated in numerous competitions at home and abroad, winning 16 prizes, including a 2nd prize at the international competition in Todi (2014, Italy) and a Grand Prix at the international competition "OHRID PEARLS" in Macedonia (2013). In the same year he received awards from the European Union of Music Competitions for Youth (EMCY).

Strahinja Pavlovic has already given numerous concerts, for example in the Sava Centar in Belgrade, in the Concert Hall of the Ilija M. Kolarac Foundation, in the Czech Embassy in Mosjøen (Norway), in the Hall of the Philharmonic Orchestra in Belgrade, in the Philharmonic Hall in Ljubljana (Slovenia) and in the Big Theater in Skopje (Macedonia).

In 2013, in the concert hall of the Ilija M. Kolarac Foundation, he premiered the composition "Theme with Variations No. 3" by Prof. Ante Grgin. He was accompanied by a string orchestra on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Music School "Vatroslav Lisinski".

Concerts as a soloist with orchestral accompaniment took him to Eastern Europe as well as in 2011 to Monza and to the Conservatory "Giuseppe Verdi" in Milan (Italy), in 2016 to Trondheim and Mosjøen (Norway) and in 2017 to the Lübeck Clarinet Night with professors such as Sabine Meyer, Reiner Wehle and Christian Ruvolo. Furthermore, Strahinja Pavlovic is a participant of the Live Music Now project in Lübeck and Hamburg.

His solo collaboration with orchestras has already brought him into contact with conductors such as Lucas Vis and Christoph Altstaedt (Germany), Nicholas Carthy (Norway), Nenad Petkovic (Serbia), Dragan Petrovic (Serbia), Bojan Sudjic (Serbia) and Jelena Susnick (Slovenia).
