Biography

Nina Gringolts was born in Switzerland in 2008 into a family of musicians. Since 2013, she has been a cello student of Liana Tretyakova at the Zachar Bron School of Music ZBSM. 

She took part in masterclasses with Liana Tretiakova, Boris Garlitsky, Daniel Hope, Latica Honda-Rosenberg, Natalia Lomeiko, Anna Gebert, Sergey Ostrovsky and Esther Hoppe. She is also a scholarship holder at the Music Academy in Liechtenstein and takes part in the academy's intensive weeks and activities. 

Nina is the winner of the international competition "Premio di Padova" in 2018 and the winner of the "Swiss youth music competition Entrada and Finale" in 2019 (with distinction) and in the chamber music category in 2023.

In a duo with ZBSM cello student Benjamin Branson, she was invited to perform at the international festival Stage for Kids in Hamburg in 2020. She also played in the violin ensemble at the concert at the Cocteau Museum as part of the chamber music series of the Menton Music Festival. 

In 2019, Nina made her debut as a soloist with orchestra in Minsk, Belarus, performing Vitalis Chaconne with the Capella Sonorus under the direction of Mourad Assouil. In 2021/22 and 2022/23, she led the Camerata Tchaikovsky (London) and the Zurich Chamber Philharmonic in solo performances of Stravinsky and Saint-Saëns. She performes regularly in Switzerland as a soloist at the ZBSM concerts in the Villa Boveri, the Theater Stok, the Zunfthaus zur Waag, the Stadthaus Zug, the Kongresshaus and the Helferei Cultural Center in Zurich as well as at the Zurich University of the Arts.
