Biography
The German-Spanish-Malaysian violinist Elias David Moncado was born in 2000. He took his first violin lessons at the age of four with Keiko Skiba and Prof. Rainer Kussmaul at the Pflugerstiftung Freiburg. At the age of seven, he became a young student with Prof. Latica Honda-Rosenberg at the Freiburg University of Music, and in the following year he switched to the Julius Stern Institute of the Berlin University of the Arts. In 2016 he joined the Interlaken Classics Academy as a young student with Prof. Zakhar Bron. He is currently studying at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg with Prof. Pierre Amoyal.

He is a scholarship holder of the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein and takes part in the intensive weeks and activities there.
At the age of ten, Elias was the youngest recipient of the "European Hope Prize of the European Cultural Foundation Pro Europa". At the age of 13, he received the "German-French Advancement Award" from the German-French Society in Freiburg. He is the youngest winner of the 1st Grand Prix and ten special prizes at the “International Karol Lipinski Competition” in Poland. He is also the youngest winner of the “7. International Sendai Competition” in Japan as well as prizewinner at numerous other international competitions, including the "Paul Hindemith Competition" (Germany), "Concours Flame Paris", "Young Paganini" (Poland), the "Telemann Competition" (Poland), the "Louis Spohr Competition" (Germany), the "Concorso Postacchini Fermo" (Italy), the "Lions Music Prize Germany" and the "Concours International de l'Orchestre du Maroc".
At the age of twelve, Elias made his debut in the Berlin Philharmonie with the Deutsches Kammerorchester Berlin. As a soloist, he has performed with numerous orchestras, including the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Freiburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Heidelberg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Baden-Baden Philharmonic, the Penang Symphony Orchestra Malaysia, the Zagreb Soloists, the Orchestre Philharmonique du Maroc, the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Sopot, the Torun Symphony Orchestra Poland, the Wroclaw Opera Philharmonic Orchestra, the MAV Budapest Symphony Orchestra, the Yamagata Symphony Orchestra Japan and the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra Japan.
Among the conductors with whom he has performed on stage are Fabrice Bollon, Johannes Knapp, Wojciech Rajski, Christoph Wyneken, Olivier Holt, Wolfgang Trommer, Gabriel Adorján, Mariusz Smolij, Ken Takaseki, Bassem Akiki, Nicolás Pasquet and Miroslaw Jacek Blaszczyk and Istvan Denes.
Elias has taken part in festivals such as the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Kissinger Music Summer, the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the Brandenburg Summer, the Next Generation Festival Bad Ragaz, Printemps Musical des Alizés, Essaouira Morocco, the Royal Opera House Muscat Oman, the Marschner Festival Hinterzarten, the crescendo Festival Berlin, the Salle Alfred Cortot Paris, the Teatro Ristori Verona, the Probaltica Music Festival Torun Poland, the Zakopane Music Festival Poland and the Mozart Festival Schloss Schwetzingen.
At the age of 15, Elias made his debut in the USA. Since then, his performances have been broadcast by various media outlets, including rbb Berlin, WDR Cologne, France 3, SWR2 and BR Klassik.
Elias is a scholarship holder of the Friends of Young Musicians Berlin, the Bernbeck Foundation, the Jürgen Ponto Foundation and Gen Re.
He is currently playing a violin by Giambattista Rogeri, Brescia (around 1700) as a scholarship holder and prizewinner of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben Hamburg.
