Biography

Lucija Mušac was born in 2000 in Split and started playing the cello when she was eight years old at the Primary Music School Lovro pl. Matacic in Omis. In 2014, she moved on to the Josip Hatze High School of Music in Split, where she continued learning with the same professor, Hillary Karuza. Later, she graduated from the Zagreb Music Academy, where she studied under Professor Branimir Pusticki and spent a year in Vienna with Professor Reinhard Latzko through an Erasmus exchange.

During her education, she has won numerous awards as a soloist and as a member of chamber ensembles. Notable achievements include first prizes at the 54th and 56th State Competition in Zagreb, as well as at the 20th, 22nd, and 24th International Competitions of Young Musicians "Daleki akordi" in Split, "Vinko Lesic" award. She has also received second prizes at the "Petar Konjovié" International Competition in Belgrade and at the 7th Croatian Competition for Young Musicians "Papandopulo".

Lucija has participated in international courses, including the World Youth Symphony Orchestra in San Diego, California, an intensive chamber music course "Colluvio" in Austria, and the Art Link Festival in Belgrade. She performed as a soloist accompanied by the Orchestra of the Josip Hatze Music School at the Rivas Orquestando Festival in Madrid, as well as part of the "Philharmonic of the Future" project at the Croatian National Theater in Split, accompanied by a theater orchestra. In the semi-finals of the Eurovision Young Musicians 2020, she played as a soloist accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of Croatian Radiotelevision. She performed Schumann's Cello Concerto with the Zagreb Soloists and Haydn's Cello Concerto with the Academy Chamber Orchestra.

Due to her exceptional success in music education, she has been awarded the Oscar of Knowledge twice and received the "Splitski pupoljak" prize.
