Biography

Marc Bouchkov is one of the most multi-faceted and unique artists of the new generation, whose international career has led him to perform with leading orchestras and conductors throughout Europe. His performances include concerts with the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra under Valery Gergiev, the hr-Sinfonieorchester under Christoph Eschenbach and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra under Mariss Jansons.

He has also performed with the NDR Sinfonieorchester Hamburg, the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, the Orchestre National de Belgique, the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale RAI, the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège, the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra and the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra. He has performed in renowned concert halls, including the Wigmore Hall, the Carnegie Hall, the Concertgebouw, the Elbphilharmonie, the Dresdner Frauenkirche, the Konzertsaal St. Petersburg, the Tonhalle Zürich, the Münchner Prinzregententheater, the Théâtre de la Ville in Paris, the Maison de Radio France and the Konzerthaus Berlin. As a chamber musician, he is a regular guest at the Verbier Festival. Marc Bouchkov’s ?rst recording at harmonia mundi, featuring two world premieres by Eugène Ysaÿe and two of his own compositions, was awarded a “Diapason d'Or” and a “Diapason Découverte”, nominated for the “ICMA 2018” and received exceptional critical acclaim on Gramophone reviews. He won the 1st prize at the “Concours musical international de Montréal” and was a silver medalist at the “International Tchaikovsky Competition” in Moscow. He was also awarded the “London Music Masters Award”.

Marc Bouchkov received his ?rst violin lessons at the age of ?ve, and subsequently studied with Claire Bernard and Boris Garlitsky. With Mihaela Martin, he continued his studies as a Young Soloist at the Kronberg Academy. Since October 2018 he has been tutored by Eduard Wulfson. Marc Bouchkov teaches at the Conservatoire royal de Liège in Belgium and at the International Academy of Music in Liechtenstein.
