Biography
Born in Madrid in 1997, Alicia Cobos Fernández-Cabrera grew up in a musical family which sparked her interest in music and therefore encouraged her to start her piano studies at an early age. She earned a Bachelor´s Degree in 2020, studying at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg in the class of Elza Kolodin. Previous teachers included Miguel Ángel Ortega Chavaldas and Mercedes Barros. She has also been under the tutelage of the Quiroga String Quartet.
In order to improve her skills and widen her knowledge, she has participated in important festivals, academies and masterclasses. Among others, she has been teached by Claudio Martínez Mehner, Imre Rohmann, Bernd Goetzke, Pavel Gililov, Nina Tichman, Zeynep Ucbasaran, Boris Berman, Joaquin Soriano and Christian Pohl. She is also a scholarship holder of the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein, where she regularly takes part in the intensive weeks and activities of the Music Academy.

Alicia has been awarded the 2nd prize at “Concurso Nacional de Piano Jacinto Guerrero” in 2012, the 1st prize at “XIX International Piano Competition City of San Sebastian” in 2015, the 3rd prize at the “Concurso Internacional de Piano Gran Klavier” and the 2nd prize at the “International Piano Competition Vila de Xabia” in 2018 as well as the 3rd prize at the “International Piano Competition Clamo Music” in 2019.
Alicia made her first piano concert performance in 2014 with the Orquesta del Conservatorio de Majadahonda. Since then, she has performed in places across Spain like Auditorio Victor Villegas in Murcia, Teatro Victoria Eugenia in San Sebastián, Fundación CAI in Huesca, Ayuntamiento de San Sebastían, Auditorio de León or Sala Orive in Córdoba. She has also given solo recitals at important institutions such as Museo de Teruel, Centro Cultural Conde Duque or Ateneo de Madrid. As a soloist, she took part in Presjovem International Music Festival in 2015 (Córdoba, Spain). She played with the Ensemble Presjovem and the Joven Orquesta Leonesa.
Alicia has received grants for studying music abroad from the Government of Madrid in 2017/18 and 2018/19.
