Biography

Deniz Yakin was born in Ankara on November 28, 2008. He began his violin education in Ankara with Assoc. Prof. Julide YALÇIN, and continued with Geralyn THEOBALD-ASHBURN and Prof. Dr. Özgül GÖK AKÇAKOYUNLUOGLU. Deniz YAKIN has been a student of Lily TCHUMBURIDZE since 2013 and continues his education at the Music and Performing Arts High School of Mersin University's Faculty of Performing Arts. Deniz Yakin won 1st prize at the International Harmony Competition in Antalya, 3rd prize at the 11th International Grumiaux Competition in Brussels, 1st prize and a Special Award at the International Marina Iashvili Competition in Tbilisi, the 'Best Concert Performance' award at the International Il Piccolo Violino Magico Competition in San Vito al Tagliemento, and 3rd prize at the 8th International Leonid Kogan Violin Competition in Brussels. He has also won 1st prizes in many online competitions, such as the International Rome Music Competition, International Medici Music Competition, International Paris Nouvelles Etoiles Competition, International Clara Schumann Competition, and the International Birmingham Competition. In 2024, he won the 'Absolute 1st Prize' and a scholarship award at the 25th 'Valsesia Musica Juniores International' competition, which was held online. After winning 1st prize at the Mimas International Violin Competition in 2025, Deniz Yakin was invited to Italy as a soloist for the gala concert. Most recently, he won the 1st prize for the Best Performance of a Young Turkish Composer's Work at the 8th AKOB National Chamber Music Competition with his group "Touche Trio". Deniz Yakin has participated in the masterclasses of world-renowned violinists such as Cihat ASKIN, Lyutsia IBRAGIMMOVA, Muhammetjan TURDIYEV, Hakan SENSOY, Dylan BLACKMORE, Prof. Elisa CITTERIO, Alexey IGUDESMAN, Prof. Antal ZALAI, Zohrab TADEVOSYAN, Vadim GLUZMAN, Prof. Mario HOSSEN, Prof. Krill TROUSSOV, and Prof. Andrey BARANOV. After winning the Is Sanat 'Shining Stars' auditions, Deniz Yakin gave a recital. He also performed at the New Year's Concert in Paris upon the invitation of the Nouvelles Etoiles Competition, and has played as a soloist with the Eskisehir Metropolitan Municipality Symphony Orchestra, Mugla Metropolitan Municipality Symphony Orchestra, Mersin University Academic Chamber Orchestra, and the Çukurova State Symphony Orchestra. Upon the invitation of the 'Valsesia Musica Juniores International' competition committee, he performed as a soloist in Italy accompanied by the Vivaldi Orchestra. He was selected as a soloist and performed in concerts held on April 20-21, 2025, with the SDEK Youth Symphony Orchestra, establihed by the Inter-University Council Art Branches Education Council (SDEK). He won the Young Soloists auditions organized by the Presidential Symphony Orchestra (CSO) and performed as a soloist in the concert held on May 16, 2025. Most recently, Deniz Yakin was featured as a soloist at the CSO's 200th Anniversary and Season Opening Special Concert on October 3, 2025.
