Biography
Kai Uemura was born in 2015 in Singapore to a Japanese family. At the age of five and a half, he began his first violin lessons in Hong Kong.
Since 2025, Kai has been a young student at the Leopold Mozart College of Music at the University of Augsburg, studying under Prof. Linus Roth.
His artistic development has also been enriched through masterclasses with Prof. Ivan Straus, Prof. Tatiana Liberova, and Dr. Robin Wilson. In addition, Kai is a scholarship holder of the Liechtenstein Music Academy and participates in the intensive weeks and activities offered by the academy.
He is a prizewinner of various national and international competitions. Among others, he received the 1st Prize with the highest score at the 29th Carl Schroeder Competition and the 2nd Prize at the 67th Kocian International Violin Competition in 2025.
As a prizewinner of the conTakt-junior e.V. competition, he has been provided with a 3/4 violin by Finnigan & Klaembt as well as a 3/4 bow by Werner Uebel.
Kai is also a scholarship holder of the Hermann and Dr. Irmgard Neumann Foundation and receives generous support from the foundation.
