Biography
João Marinho was born in Porto in 2004. He began his music studies at the Academia de Música “A Pauta” with Joana Seybert Jesus and José Paulo Jesus. In 2017 João was admited at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in the class of Professor Ana Chumachenco and Zohrab Tadevosyan. João is currently a student of the Centro Superior de Enseñanza Musical Katarina Gurska.
João has participated in masterclasses with Mauricio Fuks, Arabella Steinbacher and Miriam Fried, in the Sommermusik im Oberen Nagoldtal (2017 and 2019), Astona International (2018), Youth Classics SIMA (2019) and International Summer School Bad Reichenhall (2020). In addition, he is a scholarship holder of the International Academy of Music in Liechtenstein and participates in the intensive weeks.

He was awarded 1st prizes at several competitions and has been performing in solo, chamber and orchestral contexts since 2012.
He played as a soloist with the Vigo Conservatory Symphonic Orchestra under the direction of maestro Francisco Pérez Rodríguez and with the Orchestre des lycées français du monde under the direction of Adriana Tanus. He attended “Sommermusik im Oberen Nagoldtal” in 2017 and 2019, “Astona International” in 2018 and “Youth Classics SIMA” in 2019.
He has received scholarships from the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Fundação Albeniz and the Centro Superior de Enseñanza Musical Katarina Gurska.
