Biography
Edward Walton was born in 2006 in Australia. He currently studies the violin with Professor Boris Kuschnir at Kunst University Graz, and previously studied with Professor Robin Wilson.
He has attended master courses including the Kronberg Academy, Verbier Festival, Perlman Music Program, Keshet Eilon, Interlaken Classics, and EMF. He’s a scholarship holder of the Music Academy in Liechtenstein and takes part in the intensive weeks and activities held by the academy.
Edward was awarded the 2nd prize in the junior division of the “2021 Menuhin International Violin Competition”. He was selected to attend the Perlman Music Program and was awarded the “EMF Young Artist Pirastro Award”. He was also a finalist and prize winner as the youngest competitor in the S”ymphony Australia Young Performers Awards”. In 2019, Edward was awarded 1st prize in the “Il Piccolo Violino Magico” competition in Italy, the “Medallion International Concerto Competition” in the US, the “Jeunes Artistes musicals du Centre” in France and the “International Grand Prize Virtuoso” competition in London.

Recently, Edward made his debut with the Göttinger Symphonie Orchester performing Korngold Violin Concerto, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra performing Bruch Concerto and was selected as a Young Artist in the Verbier Festival Academy. Edward has appeared with orchestras internationally and has performed recitals in England, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Czech Republic and Australia.
He plays a Gennaro Gagliano violin generously on loan through the Beare’s International Violin Society.
