Biography
Mi-Helen Horn, born in Germany in 2009 into a German-Korean family, discovered her musical talent at a young age.She took her first violin lessons at the age of five. At the age of eight, she was a young student at the renowned Nuremberg University of Music, where she was taught by Professor Ulf Klausenitzer. She then continued her training with Professor Susanne Stoodt at the Frankfurt University of Music. Professor and violinist Marc Bouchkov has been her mentor since 2021.
Her musical talent has been recognized through numerous awards and public appearances. Among other things, she received several first prizes with maximum points, including at the regional competition “Jugend musiziert” as well as the “Mendelssohn Competition” in Bad Soden and the “Carl Schröder Competition Sondershausen”. In 2017, she was awarded at the “Rovere Dòro International Competition” in Italy. In 2019, she again won the 1st prize with the highest number of points in the regional competition “Jugend musiziert”. The most recent successes in 2023 are the 1st prize with maximum points at the “Mendelssohn Competition” and 2nd prize at the “Kocian International Violin Competition”.

At the age of six, Mi-Helen made her debut as a soloist in the famous Thiersch Hall of the Kurhaus Wiesbaden with the resident Johann Strauss Orchestra. Her remarkable musical journey continued when she performed as a soloist with an orchestra at Biebrich Castle in Wiesbaden.
Her musical talents also led her to television when she appeared on the Korean television show SBS in January 2018. In the same year she was recorded live at SR2, featuring excerpts from Johann Sebastian Bach's Partita No. 3. In 2019, she performed a recital in Seoul and Deajeon, South Korea, which was televised by SBS.
Other notable performances in 2019 include her solo performances with the Johann Strauss Orchestra Wiesbaden at the Kurhaus Wiesbaden and with the Max Bruch Philharmonic Nordhausen.
