Biography
Iris Sentürker was born in Turkey and graduated in 1998 from the Istanbul University State Conservatory. After winning the 1st prize in the „British Council’s Young Musician of the Year“ contest during the same year, she completed her education with a master’s degree from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. In 2000, she continued studying with the grant of the Eczacibasi Foundation. She was invited by the French Government to continue her studies with the famous pianist Christian Ivaldi at the Alfred Cortot Ecole Normal de Musique, in Paris. She has a cello education in addition to piano and she currently continues her conducting studies as well as her occupation as an assistant professor at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Istanbul State Conservatory in piano and chamber music branches.

Iris Sentürker has been chosen as one of the best three artists in the “BBC Soloists Contest”, organized by Is Sanat. She ranked 3rd in the “Concour Diplôme Execution de Piano” and in 2005, she was awarded the 1st place in the chamber music section of the “Concour Diplôme Superior de Music de Concertiste”, by unanimous vote.
She has worked together with well-known musicians such as Leontina Margulis, Irina Zaritskaya, Arnaldo Cohen and Sergei Dorensky.
Iris Sentürker has given many recitals in both national and international festivals, as well as performing as soloist with orchestras and chamber groups all over the world. She has been giving recitals and chamber music performances with musicians like Pierre Amoyal, Miguel da Silva, Mark Gothoni, Eszther Haffner, Tanja Becker-Bender, Thomas Riebl, Nicholas Dautricourt, Yovan Markovitch, Andrej Bielow and Alexander Rudin.
She gives masterclasses for piano and chamber music both in Turkey and abroad while she still performs in well-reputed festivals and concert programs.
She has one viral and two CD recordings.
