Biography

Giorgio Lazzari was born in 2000 in Italy. He obtained his master degree in piano with top marks from the Conservatorio Gaetano Donizetti in Bergamo, where he studied with Maria Grazia Bellocchio. Currently he is attending Kirill Gerstein’s class at the Hanns Eisler Hochschule für Musik, in Berlin. He has taken part in piano and chamber music masterclass with Pavel Gililov, Salvatore Accardo, Bruno Canino, Mario Brunello, Marc Bouchkov, Riccardo Risaliti and Filippo Gorini. He has also taken part in masterclasses with the contemporary composers Stefano Gervasoni, Alessandro Solbiati and Olivier Cuendet. He is also a scholarship holder of the International Academy of Music in Liechtenstein, participating in the intensive weeks and activities offered by the academy. 

Giorgio is a top prize winner at the “International Telekom Beethoven Competition Bonn” and the “Robert Schumann Competition Düsseldorf”.

He has already performed, both as soloist and with orchestra, in many Italian and European venues. He is appreciated especially in his interpretation of the German and Austrian classics, as well as in chamber music. He extensively performed for renowned festivals, such as Klavier Festival Ruhr, Schumannfest Düsseldorf, Bonner Schumannfest, Beethoven-Haus Bonn, Festival Pianistico Internazionale di Brescia e Bergamo, Milano Musica, GIA Brescia, Musica Insieme Bologna, Trame Sonore and Harmonies en Livradois. Recently, he performed  at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden (Berlin) for a chamber music concert together with some members of the Staatskapelle Berlin Academy. 

Besides his soloist career, Giorgio is a devoted chamber music performer, particularly in duo with violinist Sofia Manvati; together they study under the guidance of Salvatore Accardo. Giorgio is also very interested in the contemporary repertoire, and he took part to the “Call for young performers” held in 2020 and 2021 by Divertimento Ensemble, where he had the chance to focus on Stefano Gervasoni and Alessandro Solbiati’s works for solo piano as well as for duo with violin. He also performed some part of Alessandro Solbiati’s Corde e Martelletti at its premiere for Trame Sonore Festival (Mantova).
