Biography
Adelia Schalhorn was born in Germany in 2007. She received her first flute lessons at the age of six from Gesa Wecker. Since 2022, she has been a young student at the State University for Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart.
She attended masterclasses with Prof. Franz, Prof. Ballint, Prof. Formisano, Prof. Firkins and Katharina Martini. She is a scholarship holder of the Academy of Music in Liechtenstein, where she takes part in the intensive weeks and activities of the academy.
Adelia has won multiple prizes at the „Hamburg Instrumental Competition” and the „Kiel Instrumental Competition”. She also won several first prizes at the national competition „Jugend musiziert”. In 2022 she won second prize at the „JCB Award” in Hamburg and the special prize of the Berthold Hummel Foundation at the „WESPE” competition. Concert tours have taken Adelia to Denmark, Russia, Poland and the Netherlands, among other places. She is a scholarship holder of the Marie-Luise Imbusch Foundation and the Berthold Hummel Foundation.
