Biography

Eponine Mélin was born in 2006 in France. She started playing the instrument at the age of eight, first on the flute and then on the harpsichord. In 2019, she joined the Lille Conservatory in the classes of Sandra Mavel and Cyrille Duchez (flute) and Thomas Yvrard (harpsichord) while taking chamber music, harmony / symphony orchestra classes. While completing her secondary education, she was admitted in 2023 at the Conservatorium of Amsterdam (CvA) / University of Amsterdam in the joint flute class of Vincent Cortvrint, Kersten Mc Call and Mariya Semotyuk-Schlaffke.

She’s a scholarship holder of the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein and takes part in the intensive weeks and activities offered by the academy.

Eponine has been awarded prizes in various flute competitions such as the „International Competition for Young Flutists“ in 2017 with a 1st prize with congratulations in the junior category, and the 1st prize in the Espoirs de la Musique category of the „Rotary Competition“ in 2017. She also won the 2nd prize at the „Bellan Competition” in the Young Talent category in 2022, in the international category in 2020 as well as the 1st prize by unanimous decision in the junior category in 2021.
