Biography
Victor Yuanhan Lu was born in China in 2004. He studied piano with Prof. Yang Yang in the Sichuan Conservatory from the age of twelve, and currently in the Lübeck Academy of Music (Musikhochschule Lübeck) with Prof. Florian Uhlig.
He has also worked with great masters such as Arie Vardi, Gerrit Zitterbart, Hung-Kuan Chen, Vladimir Viardo, Alexander Schimpf, among others. He’s a scholarship holder of the Academy of Music in Liechtenstein and takes part in the intensive weeks and activities of the academy.
Victor Yuanhan has been selected to be a competitor at the 2022 “Geneva International Competition” and to be the youngest semifinalist of the 2022 “International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition” in Leipzig. He won the 2nd prize at the “Great Masters International Piano Competition” 2022, the 1st prize at the “Gustav Mahler Piano Competition” 2022, the 1st prize (Grand Prix) at the 3rd “Piano Competition Online”, the 1st Prize (Gold Hands) at the “Carles & Sofia International Piano Competition”, the 3rd prize at the 2nd “Tone x Galaxy y International Piano Competition” and was unanimously praised by the jury for his interpretation of Bach works.

Victor Yuanhan’s musical exploration is not only in piano solo, but also in chamber music and cello. At the age of 13, he started studying cello with Prof. Fan Zhang and participated in numerous performances and competitions. He was awarded the 2nd prize in the “8th Ensemble Competition” 2019 at the Sichuan Conservatory of Music and the 1st prize in the cello section of the “14th Sichuan Excellent Arts Talent Competition for Primary and Secondary School Students” in October 2019.
Victor Yuanhan is a laureate of the Gautier Capuçon Fondation.
