Biography
Hao-Wei Lin was born in 2004 in Taiwan. He is currently studying piano under the tutelage of Prof. Grace Chung in Taiwan.
He receives a scholarship from the Academy of Music in Liechtenstein and takes part in the intensive music weeks and activities that take place there.
Hao-Wei won several important international piano competitions and received rave reviews from concerts all over the world. His international preeminence came into sharp focus with the winning of the 3rd prize at the “14th UNISA International Piano Competition” 2020 as well as the 2nd prize at the “Epinal International Piano Competition” in 2019 and the 3rd prize and the Audience Prize at the 2018 “Cleveland International Piano Competition”. He also won the 2nd prize at the “15th Ettlingen International Competition for Young Pianists” in Germany in 2016 and again the 2nd prize at the “4th Aarhus International Piano Competition for Young Pianists” in Denmark in 2021, where he was praised on Denmark local TV broadcast by Prof. Christopher Elton. He’s also is one of the semi-finalists at the “20th Paloma O’Shea Santander International Piano Competition” in 2022, at the “5th Maj Lind International Piano Competition”, also in 2022, and at the “Horowitz Music Competition Kyiv-Geneva”. Furthermore, he’s the youngest contestant to compete at the “18th Fryderyk Chopin Competition” in 2021.

Hao-Wei gave his first piano recital at the age of ten. Despite the young age, he has performed in important venues around the world such as the Carnegie Weill Recital Hall, the Staatstheater Braunschweig in Germany and the Queen Elizabeth Theater in Canada. He also performed in China, Switzerland, Singapore and South Africa.
He played on stage with the National Symphony Orchestra of Taiwan, the Taipei Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra and the Johannesburg Symphony Orchestra.
