Biography

Gur Sargsyan was born in 2006 in Armenia. He studies at the special musical school after Al. Spendiaryan of Yerevan City with Hasmik Hakobyan.

He attended masterclasses with Sergey Glavatskikh, Mikhail Arkadiev, Prof. Elisso Bolkvadze, Prof. Raffi Kharajanyan, Prof. Yuri Hayrapetyan, Prof. Nareh Arghamanyan, Simon Trpcheski, Anahit Chaushyan, Joseph Morris Weder, Andrea Frolich, Prof. Frederick Albert Kempf, Vag Papyan Israyel, Prof. Lilit Grigoryan, Levon Avagyan, Jingge Yan, Giuliano Mazzoccante, Pavel Gililov, Prof. Freddy Kempf, Stepan Simonyan, Vladimir Ovchinnikov, Prof. Alexander Yakovlev and Prof. Gloria Campanier. He is a scholarship holder of the International Music Academy of Liechtenstein and takes part in the intensive weeks and activities of the academy.

Gur is laureate of several international competitions. Among others, he won the 4th and the 2nd prize at the “International Competition for Teenager and Young Pianists after A.Babajanyan” in 2015 and 2019, the 1st prize in the “Clavicologne International Competition” in 2017, the 2nd prize in the “International Competition” in Georgia in 2018, the 1st prize in the “Brother and Sister International Competition” in Saint-Petersburg in 2018, the Grand Prize in the “Flame International Competition” in 2020, 1st prize in “The Muse International Competition” in 2020, the 1st prize at the “Online Wave International Competition” in 2021, the 1st prize in the “Merci Maestro International Competition” in 2021, the “Al. Romanovski Special Prize“ in the “Vladimir Krainev International Competition” in 2021, the 2nd prize in the “Oleggio International Piano Competition” also in 2021 and in 2022 three times the 1st prize in “The Delphic Games”, in “The VIII Tbilisi International Contest of Young Pianists” and in the “Young Verona Piano Competition”.

Gur played with the National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia, the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra and the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra and had concert performances in Berlin, Frankfurt, Köln, Paris, Issy-les-Moulineaux, Clamart, Sankt Petersburg, Samara, Tbilisi and Dubai. 

He’s a project member of New Names of Armenia and gets a scholarship from the Music for Future Foundation and the Artis Futura Foundation.
