Biography
Born in Upper Austria, conductor, composer and cultural manager Heinz Prammer received his musical education at the Vienna Academy of Music.
As a conductor, he is and has been a guest of numerous national and international orchestras and ensembles. For many years he was artistic director of the New Vienna Baroque Ensemble as well as chief conductor and director of the Austrian Chamber Orchestra. Invitations to various festivals, to various opera houses as well as to high-profile events (e.g. overall musical direction of the 3-day play in Hermann Nitsch's "Orgien Mysterien Theater") are part of Prammer's portfolio, as are numerous tours, radio and television appearances as well as CD productions.

He was able to demonstrate his organizational skills and qualities as artistic director of the Schallaburg Summer Opera and the Vienna Mozart Week. Since 2003 Heinz Prammer has been president of European Cultural Services, a cultural NGO with its own music publishing house, a music school and an artists' agency.
As a composer, Heinz Prammer has been awarded, among others, the "Art Promotion Prize of the Province of Upper Austria" and the "Composition Scholarship of the Republic of Austria".
His diverse activities are rounded off by numerous journalistic contributions in various music magazines.
