Biography

Slávka Zámecníková has been one of the most remarkable talents at least since her successes at the Berlin State Opera, at the International May Festival in Wiesbaden as well as at the "Moniuszko Competition", the "Belvedere Competition" and the "New Voices" Competition 2019. Since September 2020, she has been an ensemble member at the Vienna State Opera, where she made her successful debut as Norina in "Don Pasquale". She further performed there as Frasquita in "Carmen" and sang the title role of Poppea in the premiere of "L'incoronazione di Poppea". This season she also appeared as Contessa in the new production of "Le nozze di Figaro" at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden.

As a scholarship holder of the Liz Mohn Culture and Music Foundation during the 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 seasons, she was a member of the International Opera Studio of the Berlin State Opera, where she celebrated her first successes as the First Lady ("Die Zauberflöte"), Miss Jessel ("Turn of the Screw"), Voice of the Falcon ("Die Frau ohne Schatten"), Flora ("La traviata") and as Chasseresse ("Hippolyte et Aricie") under the musical direction of Sir Simon Rattle. Under Simon Rattle's direction, she also sang this role in her debut at Hamburg's Elbphiharmonie. At the Berlin State Opera in 2019/2020, she was also heard as Nanetta in "Falstaff" under Zubin Mehta and as Dircé in "Médée" alongside Sonya Yoncheva. Other important debuts included Ilia in the new production of "Idomeneo" as part of the International May Festival at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden, and Sophie in "Werther" at the National Theater in Prague and the Slovak National Theater in Bratislava. She made her debut with Mahler's 4th Symphony at the Prague Spring 2018 with the Warsaw National Philharmonic. Concerts have also taken her to the Rheingau Music Festival, Prague's Rudolfinum, the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, the Konzerthaus Berlin, and with Mozart's "Requiem" to the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Festival in Sochi.

The young soprano completed her vocal training at the Bratislava Conservatory and received her master's degree at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin in the vocal class of Anna Samuil. She completed master classes with Anna Tomowa-Sintow, Brigitte Fassbaender, Deborah Polaski, Patricia McCaffrey, Francisco Araiza, Neil Shicoff, Thomas Quasthoff, Gregory Lamar, Luciana D'Intino and Júlia Várady.
