Biography

Roman Fediurko was born in Ukraine in 2004. At the age of five, he attended a music school in Kyiv with Professor Halyna Kotsiuba. 

He has been taking part in piano competitions since he was six. He is a laureate and a student at the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation New Names of Ukraine. He also receives a scholarship from the International Academy of Music in Liechtenstein and participates in the intensive music weeks and activities held there. 

Roman won several first prizes, including at the “International Robert Schumann Competition Dusseldorf for Young Pianists” in 2023 and at the “International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz Kyiv-Geneva”, in 2021 at the “3rd international Viennese classics online piano competition", at "Danubia Talents", at the international online piano competition "Champions' Keyboard" and at the "International Piano Memorial Competition of Isidor Bajic" in Novi Sad, Serbia. Also in 2021, he received the 2nd prize at the "International Competition for Pianists and Composers named Carl Filtsch" in Romania and took part in the prizewinner’s concert of the "International Online Competition for Young People in Europe EUPLAYY" in the fountain courtyard of the Munich Residence, where had won the 1st prize in 2020. Roman won further 1st prizes in 2020 at the "International Online Piano Competition #StayHome Young" (1st prize and grand prize), at the "International Online Piano Competition Franz Liszt Center" and at the "International Piano Competition Livorno" in the category "Premio Enrico Galletta". In 2019, he won the 1st prize, the EMCY Prize and the State Philharmonic Prize at the “Peter Toperzer International Piano Competition” in Slovakia, as well as 2nd prize and the “Lipatti Prize” at the international competition for young pianists “Merci, Maestro! " in Belgium. Also in 2019, he received the 1st prize and the prize of the Vivace Association at the "International Piano Competition Val de Travers" in Switzerland. In addition, in 2018, he was the absolute winner of the 51st international piano competition "Virtuosi per musica di pianoforte" in Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic. In 2017, Roman won the 1st prize at the 62nd International Piano Competition "Grotrian-Steinweg" in Germany, in 2016 at the "International Piano Competition Volodymyr Krainev" in Ukraine and at the "Rosario Marchiano Piano Competition" in Austria. In 2014 and 2016, he won the absolute 1st prize at the "Piano Talents International Piano Competition" in Italy as well as 2nd prize at the "International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz" in Ukraine. In 2015, he won the 1stprize at the “Peter Toperzer International Piano Competition” in Slovakia, at the “Rotary Piano Competition” in Germany and at the International Competition for Young Piano Players “Amadeus” in Brno, Czech Republic.

In 2022, Roman took part in benefit concerts in support of Ukraine in Graz, Kapfenberg, Feldbach and performed as part of the Starnberger Musiktage festival in Germany. He played, among others, in the Robert Schumann Hall and the Palais Wittgenstein in Germany, in the Victoria Hall and in the Villa Rachmaninoff (Villa Senar) in Hertenstein in Switzerland and in the Aram Concert Hall in Goyang, South Korea. In 2019, he performed a solo concert at the Festival Musicale delle Nazioni at the Teatro Marcello in Italy and took part in the concert Magia del Natale al Teatro Belloni in Italy. In 2018, he took part in the Young Future Stars concert at the Steinway Piano Gallery as part of the Rethinking Europe: Ukraine II festival in Sweden. In 2017, he played at the Lato z Chopinem Piano Festival in Poland and performed in the Mahler Hall at the Wunderkinder al pianoforte concerts and at the Südtirol Festival in Italy.
