Biography
Born in Germany in 2001, Clara Eglhuber received her first cello lessons at the age of five. From 2016 to 2018, she was a young student at the University for Catholic Church Music & Music Education Regensburg in the class of Wolfgang Nüsslein and has been studying in the class of Prof. Konstantin Heidrich at the University of the Arts Berlin since October 2019.
She also received important impulses from master classes with Prof. Alexander Gebert, Prof. Jakob Spahn, Prof. Troels Svane, Prof. Danjulo Ishizaka, Prof. Sebastian Klinger and Prof. Wen-Sinn Yang. She is a scholarship holder of the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein and regularly takes part in the intensive weeks and activities of the academy.

Since she was eight, Clara has won several 1st prizes and special prizes in the “Jugend musiziert” competition and has won three prizes in the competition “Jugend komponiert”. In 2022, she received a 3rd prize at the “2nd International Music Competition Goritiensis”.
Her orchestral experience, which she gained in the Bavarian State Youth Orchestra, the New Philharmonic Munich and the Ensemble Berlin Young Soloists, led her to concerts in Italy, Japan, Great Britain and the Netherlands. She is also an enthusiastic chamber musician and has already played at the International Fredener Musiktage, in the Brilliant Young International Musicians concert series in Marlborough, at the crescendo Festival of the Berlin University of the Arts and in the project Mit Musik – Miteinander of the Kronberg Academy. She was inspired by renowned musicians such as Prof. Eberhard Feltz, Prof. Jonathan Aner, Prof. Roland Glassl and the Artemis Quartet. Due to her interest in new and ancient music, Clara has been a member of the Ensemble ilinx - Studio for New Music at the Berlin University of the Arts since 2020. She is also active as a baroque cellist nationally and internationally, including in projects with the Balthasar Neumann Ensemble.
Since 2013, Clara has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic and the Freising Chamber Orchestra. Together with her duo partner Tabea Streicher (piano) she played volunteerly at Rhapsody in School.
Clara plays a cello made by H.C. Sylvestre, which has been made available to her by the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben since 2018.
