Following his debut album "Summit" released in November 2018 on Genuin Classics, Werner Theurich of Spiegel Online found, "Nuron Mukumi combines sensitive, perfect technique with a sure eye for the dramaturgy of piano compositions: a talent that combines rigor and playfulness." The album has been nominated for the Opus Klassik 2019 and the International Classical Music Awards 2020. The music magazine Pizzicato gave him the Supersonic Award for his album.
The child of two musicians, Nuron Mukumi was born in 1996 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He started playing the piano at the age of six. As a student of the "Uspensky Music School for musically gifted children" in the class of Prof. Tamara Popovich, at the age of seven he won 1st prize at the International Piano Competition for Russian Music in California and 1st prize at the Youth Competition of the Uzbek Republic of Tashkent. In the same year he began conducting training with Vladimir Neymer. Finally, at the age of eight, Nuron Mukumi made his conducting debut with the Uzbekistan National Symphony Orchestra performing Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Piano Concerto in D minor, in which he also played the piano part.
In 2010 Nuron Mukumi was accepted into the master class of Prof. Lev Natochenny and studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt am Main until 2015. In 2014 he finished his schooling in Bad Homburg. From 2015 - 2021 Nuron studied with Prof. Natochenny at the Kalaidos Hochschule fu¨r Musik in Zurich. In spring 2021 he received the Diplôme Supérieur de Concertiste (concert exam) at the École Normale de Musique de Paris. In addition, the young pianist has been a scholarship holder of the Bad Homburg Schlosskonzerte Foundation since 2017.
Nuron Mukumi has performed in the following concert venues: Mariinsky Theater St. Petersburg, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Salle Cortot Paris, Konzerthaus Berlin, Sendesaal des Hessischen Rundfunks, Weilburger Schlosskonzerte, Bad Homburger Schlosskonzerte.
Nuron has played at quite a few international festivals such as the St. Petersburg International Piano Festival, Biarritz Piano Festival, Oxford Piano Festival, Piano Loop Festival in Split, Ruhr Piano Festival, Mosel Music Festival in 2020 and at the Rheingau Music Festival in 2021.
