Stipe Prskalo

Biography

Stipe Prskalo was born in Croatia in 2003 and received his first piano lessons at the age of eight from Prof. Tajana Philips at the Elly Bašic School of Music in Zagreb. He was also taught at the Pavao Markovac School of Music in Zagreb in the class of Prof. Srebrenka Crnkovic Završki and has attended Talent Music Courses in Brescia in the class of Prof. Ruben Dalibaltayan. He is currently studying with Prof. Ruben Dalibaltayan at the Music Academy in Zagreb. 

The young pianist has attended numerous masterclasses with Ruben Dalibaltayan, Grigory Gruzman, Milana Chernyavska, Julia Gubaidulina, Dalibor Cikojevic and Ðorde Stanetti. Furthermore, he is a scholarship holder of the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein and takes part regularly in the intensive weeks and activities of the academy.

Stipe has already won 1st prizes at several national and international piano competitions, including the “Croatian National Piano Competition” in 2017, the “Croatian National Chamber Music Competition” in Zagreb (piano trio) in 2015 and 2016, the “International Piano Competition Memorial Jurica Murai” in Varadžin in 2016 and 2018, the „International Piano Competition Janez Maticic” in Ljubljana in 2018, the “EPTA International Competition for Young Pianists” in Osijek in 2019 where he was also awarded a special prize for the best interpretation of a composition by Johann Sebastian Bach. In 2015, he was awarded for his achievements on the “National Chamber Music Competition” by the Croatian Ministry of Higher Education, Education and Sport.

Stipe collaborated as a soloist with the Zagreb Soloists Chamber Orchestra, playing Mozart’s Piano Concerto in A-Major.
