Biography
Jonathan Reuveni, born in Switzerland in 1997, received his first cello lessons from Emeric Kostyak at the age of six. He later joined Stephanie Meyer in the preparatory class at the Basel Music Academy. He is currently studying with Prof. Maximilian Hornung at the Musikhochschule in Munich.
Jonathan was able to attend numerous master classes, including with Wolfgang Böttcher, Frans Helmerson, Jan Vogler, the Amaryllis Quartet, Wen-Sinn Yang, Peter Bruns, Claudio Bohorquez and Arto Noras. He is also a scholarship holder of the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein and takes part in the intensive weeks and activities there.

As a soloist and chamber musician, Jonathan has won numerous competitions, such as the "Sinfonima Instrument Competition" in 2021. In 2020, he was a semi-finalist in the "International Antonio Janigro Competition". In 2011, he won the 1st prize with distinction and several special prizes in the final of the "Swiss Youth Music Competition" in Basel as a member of the Sereno Quartet, a 2nd prize and a special prize in the national competition of the German competition “Jugend Musiziert” as a soloist in 2013 in Fürth, a 1st prize in the final of the “Swiss Youth Music Competition” 2014 (solo) in Lausanne, the 1st prize and the 2nd audience award of the “Moritzburg Festival Academy” 2015 in Dresden and many more.
Jonathan performs regularly as a chamber musician and soloist, including with the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic under Marcus Bosch. From 2013 to 2017, he was a member of the Swiss Youth Symphony Orchestra. He also played Beethoven's Triple Concerto with the Junge Sinfoniker Basel in the Basel Stadtcasino. He has been an intern in the Basel Symphony Orchestra since 2021.
In 2018, Jonathan was funded by the Hans Huber Foundation. He is a scholarship holder of the Musethica Foundation and played together with Zvi Plesser and probably with Tanja Becker-Bender.
Jonathan plays a 1676 Grancino cello.
