Constantin Heise

Biography

Constantin Heise was born in Germany in 2001 into a family of musicians. From the age of six he received first piano and then cello lessons from Moritz Kuhn, leader of the cellos in the Brandenburg State Orchestra in Frankfurt. In 2020, Constantin completed his Abitur at a mathematical, scientific and technical special school and MINT excellence center. From 2016 to 2020, he was a young student with Prof. Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt at the Franz Liszt University of Music in Weimar, where he has been continuing his bachelor's degree since summer 2020, also with Prof. Schmidt.

Since 2017, he has participated in several master classes by David Geringas. He received further impulses from Julius Berger, Jens-Peter Maintz, Jérôme Pernoo, Daniel Hope, Hartmut Rohde, Troels Svane and Martin Helmchen. He also receives a scholarship from the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein and takes part in the intensive music weeks and activities that take place there. 

In 2010 and 2013, Constantin received the best ratings in the cello solo category of “Jugend musiziert”. In 2016 he immediately won the 1st prize at the national competition in Kassel with a maximum of 25 points. In 2018, the first international success followed with the 1st prize in the "Augustin Aponte" competition in Tenerife. In 2022, he reached the semi-finals of the renowned "Queen Elisabeth Competition" in Brussels. 

Constantin made his debut as a soloist with the Filharmonia Zielona Gora at the age of ten. Since then, he has performed with the Brandenburg State Orchestra in Frankfurt, the Jena Philharmonic and the Orchester Royale de Chambre de Wallonie, among others. In addition to regular family concerts, he has performed in a wide variety of chamber music and chamber orchestra concerts at international festivals such as the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Music Festival or the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. 

In 2020, he took part in the Daniel Hope Music Academy at Schloss Neuhardenberg and in 2021, he played on the TheHopeOrchestra tour with concerts at the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival and the Frauenkirche in Dresden. 

Constantin has been a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation since 2021. He plays a cello by Dietmar Rexhausen from 2022.
