Biography

Jesús Gómez Madrigal was born in Spain. He began his musical education with Gabriel Teruel and Perfecto García Chornet at the Conservatorio Superior de Valencia and continues it with the pianist and musicologist Luca Chiantore and with Fausto Zadra at the Academia Pianística Robert Schumann in Lausanne. He received the Graduate Performance Diploma from the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore with Professor Julian Martin and completed his studies at the Escuela Superior Reina Sofia in Madrid with Professor Dimitri Bashkirov, piano and Professor Marta Gulyas, chamber music with the help of a grant from the Fundación Albéniz under the honorary presidency by Alicia de la Rocha.

Master classes with artists such as Leon Fleisher, Murrai Perahia, Rosalyn Tureck, Bruno Leonardo Gelberg, Femando Puchol, Emilie Naoumoff, Ferenc Rados, Ralph Gothoni, Josep M. Colom and ensembles such as the Moscow Trio and the Beaux Arts Trio complemented his training. 

Jesús is 1st prize winner of the piano competitions “Marisa Montiel” in Lineres-Jaén, “Musiquisismos RTVE” and the “International Chamber Music Competition Paper de Música” in Capellades-Catalonia with the Trio Valentia. 

He leads an intensive concert life both as a soloist and with various chamber music ensembles such as the Trio Valentia and the Trio Artaria. He has given concerts with renowned artists such as Mark Lubotsky, Gerard Caussé and Duncan McTier. He plays in the most important halls in Spain, National Auditorium, Palau de la Música Catalana, Palau de Valencia, Auditorio M. de Falla de Granada, in other countries such as France, Italy, Belgium, USA, Switzerland and Palestine, among others, and takes part in prestigious in festivals such as the Festival del Mediterráneo in Cullera-Valencia, the Festival Internacional de Nice, the International Festival in Vermont-EE.UU, la Slokar Academy in Ljubljana and Encuentro de Música y Academia in Santander. 

As a soloist, Jesús has performed with the Orquesta Municipal de Valencia, La Turiae Camerana, the Orquesta Ciudad de Elche and the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra at Maryland, among others, under the baton of Manuel Galduf, Sara Watkins, Antoni Ros Marbá, Enrique García Asensio, Manuel Hernández or Juan Luis Martínez. 

Jesús is a professor at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Madrid.
